Faculty Responsibilities

To address faculty and department chairs requests to the Emory College of Arts and Sciences (ECAS), the Faculty Responsibilities Working Group will work to create a document that more explicitly describes faculty responsibilities than is currently available in the University Statement of Principles Governing Faculty Relationships (i.e., "the gray book").

The document will focus on the development of a statement of faculty responsibilities, including obligations to departments, the College, and the University while at the same time ensuring academic freedom.

The goal is to define College faculty responsibilities and outline how department chairs and administrators can hold faculty members accountable for acting consistently with the specified duties and expectations.
